PRP for hair
PRP (Platelet Rich Plasma) is a plasma enriched with platelets and growth factors, obtained from the patient's blood. It is a natural treatment used in medicine for its numerous virtues of cell regeneration and stimulation of vascularisation.
PRP is used to fight hair loss and stimulate hair regrowth. The cells (platelets) that are injected release many growth factors that act directly on the hair follicles, stimulating them to strengthen existing hair and produce new hair. In this way, PRP slows down hair loss and promotes regrowth to increase hair density.
It can be used in many indications: to slow hair loss (change of season, hormonal changes, alopecia, etc.), to stimulate regrowth, for example in beginning androgenic alopecia ("baldness"), as a complement to hair transplants in order to help the grafts to attach properly and to speed up healing in the donor area.
How does a PRP session work?
The doctor or a nurse takes a blood sample (about 10 ml of blood is taken). The tube is then placed in a centrifuge to isolate the platelets from the other blood components (red and white blood cells). The doctor then collects the platelet and growth factor-rich plasma and injects it into the scalp in multiple micro-injections using the finest needles possible. The total duration of the procedure is 30-40 minutes.

What are the side effects of PRP?
As PRP is a product of the patient's own body, there is no risk of allergy or rejection. Redness and pain are possible, as with any injection.
You can work again immediately after a PRP session.
What are the contraindications to PRP?
The main contraindications to PRP injections are the following:
- anti-inflammatory drugs, anti-coagulants, some coagulation disorders
- some allergies, autoimmune diseases, cancer
- pregnancy and/or breastfeeding
- generalized or injection site infections

How many PRP sessions are required?
The number of sessions depends on your particular case and will be discussed with you.
Usually, for the scalp, 3-4 sessions, 4 to 6 weeks apart are required, followed by 2 sessions per year for maintenance.
How much does it cost?
