Prodeep® fractional non-ablative laser

How does the prodeep non-ablative fractional laser works:

The non-ablative fractional laser ProDeep® (Vydence) (1340 nm) creates multiple coagulation columns in the dermis without breaking the epidermis (no ‘hole’ in the skin surface). The aim is to create a dense network of coagulation wells leading to a healing response (‘pro-healing’ technique) and therefore a stimulation of the fibroblasts and collagen around them.
This neo-collagenesis begins 6 weeks after treatment and continues for 6 months. The untreated areas retain all their healing and pigmentation capacities, which means that the post-treatment period is minimal and there is no need for social eviction.

The Prodeep non-ablative fractional laser is designed for patients who want a relatively gentle treatment with gradual results, without the need for social eviction or surgery. The results are clear and visible, leaving the skin more beautiful and smoother.

What is the prodeep non-ablative fractional laser recommended for: 

• Facial rejuvenation, treatment or prevention of ageing: reduces superficial wrinkles, restores skin tension, improves skin tone and texture. 
• Acne scars, post-traumatic scars, post-surgical scars 
• Stretch marks 
• Global treatment of active acne lesions, whether microcystic or inflammatory. Pimples and blemishes are reduced, scars and spots faded: a long-lasting dermatological alternative to conventional anti-acne treatments.

How a session runs: 

The eyes are protected by extra-ocular shields or specific protective patches. 
The laser light is applied point by point, and two passages are made over the entire area to treat. 
The sessions are not very painful. A device is used to cool the area during treatment to protect the epidermis and reduce pain.

After a session: 

The post-treatment effects are moderate, with discrete redness and swelling on the first day, redness on the second day and almost nothing on the third.
Most of the time, there is no need to avoid social life after a Prodeep non-ablative fractional laser session, and the associated redness can be covered by make-up without any problem.

The use of a minimum SPF50 sun cream is recommended throughout the procedure and for at least 15 days before and after each session. This procedure can be carried out all year round on all phototypes.

Number of sessions and results:

The number of sessions is generally between 3 and 7, depending on the indication and the capacity of your fibroblasts to produce collagen.
The results of a session are progressive and can be assessed from 3 months onwards, with the definitive result occurring after 6 months.
The interval between two sessions is generally around 30 days.
Dr Elodie Bonné advises scheduling 3 initial sessions and evaluating the results 3 months after the last session, after which further sessions can be scheduled depending on the results obtained.
